Fuzhou Hualin Temple, Hualin Si

Hualin Temple (Hualin Si) is located at the foot of Ping Mountain north of palace area in Fuzhou of Fujian province. It was built in the Northern Song Dynasty (960 – 1279).

The temple is the oldest wooden construction in south China. The temple construction got its characteristics. The audience hall is 15.5 meters high and the area is 574 square meters.

Fuzhou Lin Zexu’s Tomb, Lin Zexu Mu

Lin Zexu’s Tomb (Lin Zexu Mu) is located at the foot of the Golden Lion Mountain north of Fuzhou in Fujian province. The tomb faces the Five Phoenix Mountain. Lin Zexu (1785 – 1850) was a national hero of Qing Dynasty. He advocated the destroyal of opium.

In Daoguang nineteen year (Year 1839), he destroyed 1.185 million kilograms of opium in Humen. When the Britain launched a war of aggression, he united the army and people to fight against the British. He was banished to Xinjiang because of the chaotic and corrupted politics. The tomb measures 13.2 meters wide and 24.6 meters deep. There is a pair of stone lions in front of the tomb.

Fuzhou Jin Mountain Temple, Jinshan Si

Jin Mountain Temple (Jinshan Si) is located on a mini island in the Center of Wu River near the Hongtang village in west Fuzhou. The island looks like the Golden Hill in Zhenjiang, so it is called “Mini Golden Hill.” About seven or eight hundred years ago, a solid tower of seven storey and eight levels was built on the island.
