Lianyungang One-line Sky, Yixiantian, LYG

Among the beautiful Huaguo Mountain in Lianyungang is marvelous natural scenery with the name One-line Sky (Yixiantian). This sight composed mainly of two huge rocks. In the narrow gap between the two rocks, the sky seemed to change to a line. You would be surprise by the nature and experience the excitement in exploring when you are in the One-line Sky scenic spot.

Lianyungang Quyang Ancient Town, Quyang Gucheng

There are several ancient towns with thousands of years of history in Donghai County, Lianyungang. The Quyang Ancient Town is one of them and is also the best protected. Quyang Ancient Town’s history rooted from West Han Dynasty with nearly two thousand years of history. The rampart of the ancient town is about 5 meters and the whole city formed a shape like a key. The city was built with the ocher and there’re still some marks left on the wall. Quyang was the origin of Taoism in ancient China. There are some cultural relics from the Han Dynasty unearthed here presently.

Lianyungang the Site Where Confucius Meeting the Marquis of Qi

It was said that Jaigu Mountain, Ganyu County was the place where Confucius met the Marquis of Qi. There were some palaces and temples built here in memory of Confucius during the Ming Dynasty such as Holy Palace, Shenghua Pavilion, Kuixing Pavilion and so on.

Lianyungang Baojia Mountain, Baojia Shan

Baojia Mountain locates in the southeast of the Su City Reservoir. This mountain got its name from a legendary story that the Emperor of Tang Dynasty was besieged here once. Luckily his housecarls reached in time and saved the emperor. Thus, the Emperor named the mountain Baojia which means escorting the Emperor. There is a pavilion named Siwang on top of the mountain. Tourist can get a bird view of the beautiful scenery of the Su City.

Lianyungang Feather Mountain, Yu Shan

Feather Mountain is presently the oldest sight in the Donghai County, Lianyungang. The Feather Mountain locates at the northwest of the Donghai County. It was said that there was an ancient legend behind this mountain. The legend was the widely known story of Da Yu controlling the water. On top of the mountain, there is spring with a mouth in basin shape, which runs all year round. There is another sight named Three Gaps Rock. The three gaps on the rock were left by a sword in the very ancient period.

Lianyungang Dragon Cave, Long Dong

Dragon Cave (Long Dong) is located at west of Long Cave Hut (Longdongan), in Kongwang Mountain, Lianyungang. The entrance of the cave is 1 square meter; inner of the cave occupies 5 to 6 square meters. The ancient fable has it that a yellow dragon once dived into the cave and practiced in this place. The yellow dragon then soared and went away from this place. Thus the cave got its name as a famous cave in the mountain.

Outside the cave are engravings of Song, Jin, Yuan, Ming, Qing Dynasties (from about 960-1911 AD). The carved stone on the west side of the cave was written by Wang Huayao from the Song Dynasty (960-1279 AD).

Lianyungang Monkey Stone, Houshi

There is a peak named Monkey Mouth Mountain on the northwest of Huaguo Mountain in of Lianyungang. There is a big stone on the top of the mountain. When seen from far, it looks like a small monkey squatting, thus it was named as Monkey Stone by the local people.

The stone angle is prominent under the forehead, resembling the monkey’s thin sharp mouth. The image is lifelike and is extremely expressive.

Lianyungang Water Curtain Cave, Shuilian Dong

Water Curtain Cave (Shuilian Dong) is located on the summit of Huaguo Mountain, east of San Yuanjia Temple. The cave is a natural crevasse cavern. The inside is the artificial tunnel which is passable to the lower platform. In front of the cave were many precious stone engraving.

“Spirit Spring” were two characters written by Shi Liangcai in the middle 1800s. Spirit Spring is actually the well in the cave.
