Qiantong, in Ninghai County of Ningbo, is an ancient town with distinct features of traditional towns in the south of the Yangtze River. It is easy to reach the town, for it is only approximately 10 kilometers from the city and is very near to the Ningbo-Taizhou-Wenzhou Expressway. Of the over 2,000 families living in the town, 80 percent of the people are Tong by name. As a town with a history of 760 years, many of the houses that were built in the Ming and Qing dynasties are well preserved.
